Autumnal thoughts

In these tough uncertain times I like to think of an ancient proverb I heard many years ago:

The forest doesn't answer your prayers, it finds you there.

    I felt every scale and soul-sucking touch, every insertion and hiss. It only took forever because I remembered it forever, and there were scales.
